Today I was lucky enough to come across the Queenscliff Brewhouse, they have mainly Prickly Moses beers on tap with some other great craft beers and a good selection in the fridge and bottle shop. They are planning to start their own craft brewery in the near future, they have the equipment and are now just entering the setup stage.
The beers I sampled were:
1. Bells Beach, Point Impossible IPA, it has a strong malty taste with a good hoppy finish. Yum! A very good ale.
2. Prickly Moses, Reserve de Otway, 6.8% abv, this beer is matured in port barrels which leads to the strong, fruity, wine aroma and the slightly port/wine taste with a terrific mild sour finish. A truly great beer!!
4. Top End, Red Centre IPA, 6.5% abv, this beer has a great hoppy IPA taste and a lovely finish. Definitely worth trying.
5. Prickly Moses, Black Panther IBA, 6.2% abv, this is an Indian Brown Ale, it has a great strong, malty taste and a smooth, well balanced finish.
6. Prickly Moses, Tailpipe, 7.1% abv, this is an American Brown Ale that has a smooth malty taste and a good lasting finish.
