While in Darwin I have visited a few different bars in an effort to try the One Mile Brewery range. I wasn’t able to track down their 4:21 , which is very popular and thus, out of stock at the moment, it is named after the official knock off time in Darwin. I did find three others from their range though.
RDO, 4.5% abv, this is a bright ale that has a light golden colour and a subtle citrus hop aroma. It has a wonderful sweet, fruity palate with a gentle hop bitterness on a crisp finish.
Otto’s Red Ale, 4.8% abv, this ale has a dark amber colour and a wonderful, strong aroma of toffee and caramel. It has a lovely malty taste with hints of caramel and butterscotch toffee followed by a smooth crisp finish that leaves you wanting more and more.
Pink Lady Cider, 5.0% abv, this Cider is a light straw colour and has a lovely light sweet apple aroma. It has a great crisp apple flavour on a nice dry finish. Very easy drinking.
The One Mile Brewery is in the process of moving to new premises in Winnelli in Darwin where they will have room for a brewpub/ tasting room. This will open in July so all you lucky people of Darwin will have another venue to visit for great beer. I really wish I could be here for the opening!!
