Hargreaves Hill Brewery is in Bell street (the main street) of Yarra Glen in Victoria. They have some wonderful beers and also do meals in their restaurant/ bar. They are well worth the visit.
The first beer I am reviewing from Hargreaves Hill and is their Stout, 6.2% abv, this has a great malt aroma followed by lovely roasted malt flavour with hints of chocolate and a mild hop bitter finish. It really is a very well balanced stout and deserves trying if you enjoy good dark beers.
The Hargreaves Hill Pale Ale, 4.9% abv, has a nice dark straw colour and a mild floral aroma. It has a strong, sweet, hoppy initial taste with hints of citrus and then smooths out to a subtle bitter finish. A great Pale Ale in the Australian style.
The Hargreaves Hill IPA, 6.2% abv, is called their Zenith, India Pale Ale and has a strong citrus, fruity hop aroma and a lovely, strong bitter hop taste that provides a really long finish. A true IPA!!
The Hargreaves Hill ESB, 5.2% abv, has a dark amber colour and a slightly malty aroma. It has a very well balanced taste that fills the whole mouth with both malt and hop flavours and a crisp, smooth finish. A lovely English style bitter that is very easy to drink.
