I also went to Buckleys Brewery, which is in the same street as Watts River Brewing in Healesville, the Brewery has been around for quite a few years but changed hands last year, with the new owners keen to maintain a tradition of producing unique, quality craft beers.
The beers I sampled were:
1. English Pale Ale, 4.5% abv, this ale has a great amber colour, it has a malty initial taste followed with a mild fruity hop finish. This is a very smooth, well balanced beer.
2. Pilsner, 4.5% abv, this is a very easy drinking beer with a light hop aroma and a lovely mild, dry bitter finish. This would be great for a hot day!
3. Bitter, 4.5% abv, this beer has a dark amber colour, a lovely malty nose and a great malty taste followed by a balanced dry finish.
4. Dark Bock, 5.8% abv, this is a stout made with a lager yeast, which makes it quite unique. It has a great complex malty taste with hints of chocolate and then a slightly sour finish. Great!!
I enjoyed all of the beers here and would recommend giving them a try.
