Blackman’s Brewery

I was also able to check out Blackman’s Brewery and try a few of their beers. This is another Brewery where all the brewing is done out the back. The beers I sampled were:

1. Bob, 4.3% abv 15 IBU, Belgian style witbier containing toasted lemon zest, coriander seeds and coconut. A very refreshing wheat beer. Lovely!

2. Lager, 4.6% abv 28 IBU, Smooth lager, nothing really special but true to the lager style and easy to knock back.

3. Ernie, 5% abv 35 IBU, Golden Ale, starts with citrus aromas, has a slightly hoppy taste and a mild bitter finish. Very easy to drink.

4. Mervyn, 4.6 abv 38 IBU, Pale Ale, hop aromas, fruity taste and a good, strong bitter finish. Yum!!

5. Reginald, 6.2% abv 65 IBU, IPA, has a sweet, fruity aroma. Tastes very smooth on the palate with a late bitter aftertaste. A very good example of the American style of IPA.

6. Arthur, 6% abv 40 IBU, Smoked Porter, strong smokey aroma with a rich smooth taste. Very, very drinkable.
