Red Hill Brewery

Today I visited Red Hill Brewery, which is quite a unique, independent microbrewery because of the fact that they grow their own hops on the property as well as brewing the beers.
The beers I sampled were:
1. Golden Ale, 5% abv, this pale straw coloured ale has a nice fruity aroma followed by a lovely mild hoppy taste and a crisp, dry finish.
2. Saison, 6% abv, this beer has a slight citrus taste with a mild, clean refreshing finish.
3. Pilsner, 5.2% abv, this beer has a wonderful, strong hoppy initial palate then moves into a well balanced malty finish.
4. Scotch Ale, 5.8% abv, this hand pumped ale has a smooth caramel aroma, followed by a lovely malty taste and then finishes with a well balanced, mild hop bitterness. Delicious!
Coming soon to the Brewery will be the Hop Harvest, a classic ESB that has been heavily hopped by the hops grown in their hop garden only a few metres from the brewhouse. This has allowed them to wet hop the beer with hops straight from the vine to the brew. It sounds great and should be available next week.
