On Friday the 22nd of September I tried a couple of beers made by the 666 Brewing Co. in Port Macquarie. This is a brewery that uses the facilities of Black Duck to do its brewing. It is operated by Graham May, a Kiwi who likes to make full flavoured brews. His beers are available on tap at The Duck in Clarence street, Port Macquarie.
The beers that I sampled were:
Red Orbit, 5.3% abv, this is a Red Ale with an amber colour and a sweet hop aroma. It has a complex malt flavour with strong hints of caramel.
Gabriel, 5.0% abv, this is a Pale Ale with a straw colour and a subtle citrus fruit aroma. This beer is all about the hops, it has a huge citrus fruit flavour and then a generous hop bitter finish.
The 666 Brewing Co. beers were both fantastic and I would definitely recommend looking out for them if you are in the area.
